Event Recap

On January 29, 2025, the City of Portsmouth, alongside community partners, successfully hosted ROC the Block in Port Norfolk. A total of 191 city employees and 2 residents participated in efforts to enhance the neighborhood, address infrastructure concerns, and improve public spaces.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Parks and Recreation: Pruned and trimmed trees and bushes in city right-of-ways.
  • Public Works: Filled 9 potholes and completed one overlay to enhance road conditions.
  • The Portsmouth Police Department: Reviewed a complaint regarding homelessness under the West Norfolk Bridge and recorded a parking violation.
  • Waste Management and Cleanup: A total of 141 bags of trash were collected, with a combined weight of 1,692 pounds.

Service Requests Submitted: 26 service tickets were logged in SeeClickFix for necessary follow-up and future improvements.
